SpringCM Cloud ECM: What's New in the July 2010 Release
SpringCM July 2010 was designed to make SpringCM cloud enterprise cotent management both more powerful and easier than ever to use. Highlights of the new release include:
- Great usability enhancements making your use of SpringCM faster and easier
- More powerful and attractive charts to manage your processes
- Scan to SpringCM enhancements make it simpler than ever to upload documents from a scanner
- Easier sharing of documents with external parties through a new capability to publish content to external portals
- Simpler identity management with new Single Sign-On capability based on the SAML 2.0 standard

General Usability Enhancements
Browse Document and Preview Page
The data grid on the Browse Documents page and the Document Preview page have been enhanced for better usability.
Browse Documents
Enhancements to the data grid include:
- User choice of columns to display
- User choice of column ordering and width


- Intuitive Paging and Navigation
- Tab Selection menu available on every page

Document Preview
Enhancements to the Preview page include:
- Drop Down Zoom Settings

- Drop Shadows on Thumbnail Previews

Feature Enhancements
Document Publishing
SpringCM can now make a single document available for download by non-SpringCM users by “publishing” to a separate and public web site. Documents published to this site can then be freely downloaded without the need to pass through standard SpringCM security.
- Present a Document as Public outside of SpringCM
- Set Expiration Dates on individual documents
Reporting
Enhanced reporting and charting capabilities help to make tactical and strategic decisions about your business processes. Enhancements to Reporting include:
- Reporting on multiple attribute group data
- Improved look and feel of Charts and Graphs

Scan to SpringCM
Enhancements to SpringCM’s Scan and Index application include:
- Preview and rotate document images before indexing
- Apply attribute field filters like String Length, Numeric Value and Date Range
- Configure creation and upload to multi-level directories with SpringCM Document Rules
Help Menu
- One link on the SpringCM toolbar provides access to Knowledge Articles, Training Videos, and User Forums.
Scheduled Document Rules
- SpringCM Document Rules can now be scheduled to run Hourly

Single Sign-On (SSO) Support
- Support for SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) 2.0
Web Services
SpringCM July 2010 extends our web services interfaces. Improvements include:
- Word Merge via Web Services
- Send for Electronic Signature via web services
- Improvements to the UserAccount object
- Efficiency improvements when saving document metadata
