SpringBoard Implementation Methodology

SpringBoard, the SpringCM implementation methodology, combines best practices, historical perspective and project discipline, and consists of three (3) phases:

  1. Discover
  2. Configure
  3. Deliver

Discover

The objective of the Discover phase is to prepare your organization for the configuration and rollout of SpringCM. This phase involves gaining stakeholder buy-in, understanding the implementation plan and objectives and assessment and definition of business processes. While seemingly complex, SpringCM provides best practice templates to ensure that project managers collect essential information.

SpringBoard Implementation Best Practices Templates

As the templates are completed, we map business processes to SpringCM functionality and create a plan or Statement of Work (SOW) for configuration, data migration, and/or training required for the implementation. Our clients sign off on the definition of remaining deliverables.

Configure

During the Configure phase, engineers review the approved design documents and create documentation detailing configuration settings, data migration, and other processes. We work with clients to clarify areas requiring more information and mitigate risks. We deliver a thorough project and test plan along with:

  • SpringCM application configuration
  • Data migration processes
  • Data and application integration touch points
  • Customization plan

Deliver

The Deliver phase consists of three steps to ensure project deliverables completed, excellent support provided and new best practices implemented. Delivery includes four (4) distinct sub-steps:

  • Documentation
  • Knowledge transfer
  • Production rollout
  • Support Handoff

The complexity of implementation determines the level of documentation provided with each deliverable. SOWs accompany complex implementations and explicitly state the services provided, by whom and when. We define general and specific knowledge transfer sessions in the SOW. The SOW also defines SpringCM's Professional Services role in the solution deployment to production.

During the Deliver phase, the project team conducts a de-brief session with the SpringCM Support Team to review client contact information, client team roles and project documentation, and conduct a deliverables-specific knowledge transfer session.

Training and Support is critical to ensuring client success on SpringCM. Whether you are an existing client, evaluating SpringCM or a partner, accessing SpringCM training and support resources is easy.  Standard support includes:

  • Online support (Knowledge Articles, FAQs, Quick Start Guides, Quick Tips)
  • Live support representatives (12x5)
  • Early notification of new releases
  • Dedicated Account Manager

A final step in the Deliver phase includes a Post Implementation Review. The project team conducts a de-brief session with the client and SpringCM or partners. The objective of the review is to refine future solutions and incorporate the knowledge gained on the project into future designs and project plans. Client project members may also be included to gain insight to what worked well and what did not from the client's point of view. We put a process in place to continually gather requirements and implement process improvements.

Communication Planning and Execution

Proper communication is critical to the success of any project that will institute a change in people's day-to-day activities. SpringBoard requires close contact with the client's project manager to establish a communication plan and facilitate execution of that plan throughout the entire project. The communication plan:

  • Defines the audiences requiring communication such as Stakeholders, Sponsors, etc.
  • Defines the communications to be executed throughout the course of the project. Each communication will be defined by an owner, the communicator, the communication medium, the date/time of the communication and the intended recipients.
  • Communication Schedule

Project Management

SpringBoard also requests adherence to project management concepts. Project managers are responsible for facilitating the day-to-day activities and ensuring the project's success. The project team is led by the project manager and is responsible for:

  • Managing the Project Timeline
  • Risk & Issue Management
  • Ensuring Communication Plan Execution
  • Training Logistics

Change Management

Considering the dynamics and fluidity of our client's businesses and processes, SpringBoard has a controlled means through which clients request changes to project scope or requirements. Following the approval of the requirements and the design documents, change control begins to document variances from the SOW and to ensure that the project team remains in agreement as to what is and what is not included in the final deliverables list. If changes are requested, SpringCM Professional Services reviews the Change Request and responds with how the change to scope impact the cost and/or schedule of the project to allow the project team to make the determination to proceed with the change.
