Advanced Workflow
SpringCM Advanced Workflow is a powerful business process accelerator that is built on a versatile business process management (BPM) engine that enables users to create simple or complex rules-based workflow. Advanced Workflow can be employed in processes such as contract management, accounts payable (AP), claims processing, human resources, training and many others. For example, in an application such as invoice exception processing when invoices are scanned or electronically captured into SpringCM and entered into the ERP system, exception invoices are passed back to SpringCM's Advanced Workflow via Web services for resolution. SpringCM can then notify vendors of the exception. Once the discrepancy is resolved, SpringCM Advanced Workflow can close the loop by sending the results via Web services to the ERP system. E-mail notifications and escalations are used to ensure timely resolution of a discrepancy, and your team members can easily access the Advanced Workflow step they need to complete directly from the Toolbar.
eForms are an important component of Advanced Workflow. Information gathered from eForms can be routed to an Advanced Workflow and placed into customized documents such as contracts, offer letters or personalized correspondence. Opportunity information stored in salesforce.com (or other systems) can also be routed to an Advanced Workflow and extracted into similar customized documents. Advanced Workflow's Business Activity Monitor (BAM) can be configured with Data Points and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to give management real-time visibility into the process.
SpringCM Advanced Workflow features include:
- Point-and-click configuration design environment
- Hands on processing for exception handling
- Knowledge worker-based decision processing
- Automatic escalation
- E-mail alerts and reminders
- Process rendezvous
- Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
Rules on Folders is used to create custom rules that automate document processing when workflows are not appropriate. Custom rules can be applied to any folder in your repository. Rules can be launched based upon a document arriving in a folder or when the metadata is changed. They can be configured to add metadata to documents, to move documents based upon metadata, to call Web services and more. Examples of rules on folders include:
- Launching a workflow when a document is added to folder
- Assigning metadata automatically based on file characteristics
- Moving files to a specific folder based on file attributes (file extension, date, incoming fax number) or metadata
- Invoking Web services to launch third-party applications Click here to read about leading organizations that are using SpringCM as a workflow and collaboration document management solution.
