SpringCM Announces the Acquisition of Privia, the Leading Software for Government in Bid and Proposal Management

A Message from Dan Carmel, CEO, SpringCM

Welcome to the SpringCM family. On Feb. 15, 2008, SpringCM, the leading provider of on-demand document and business process management, acquired the assets of Synchris Inc., including Privia. This acquisition will ensure current Privia users receive continuous innovation in managing government proposals and bids and will provide access to additional document management solutions for other parts of their organizations.

SpringCM is the leader in providing complete enterprise content management (ECM) solutions on demand. Companies including General Electric, Cox, Comcast, Avon, Health Net and Dresser Roots depend on SpringCM daily for automating many document-centric processes such as accounts payable and receivable, project document management and collaboration between parties, and compliance and correspondence management. As part of the SpringCM family, Privia users will now have a single source for a broad range of business solutions.

Privia will become the Government Bid and Proposal Management Solution from SpringCM. But no immediate changes are planned, and as a Privia customer, you will continue to receive full support for your Privia application from the same support staff as before and continue to access the same Privia software as you did prior to the acquisition.

Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about SpringCM. We look forward to a long and successful partnership in providing your organization with more effective content management solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions: SpringCM Acquires the Assets of Synchris

Why did SpringCM acquire Privia?

SpringCM already offers comprehensive contract and proposal management capabilities for commercial contracts. Adding the leading product for managing government bids and proposals extends this leadership and adds a significant new market for SpringCM to address. We performed a thorough review of Privia’s capabilities and were very impressed by the technology, commitment to customer satisfaction and staff, all of whom have joined SpringCM. Now together, we will focus on extending Privia’s market leadership while offering existing Privia users a broader range of document and workflow management solutions to improve a variety of business processes.

How will the acquisition affect my Privia solution?

You and your team members will continue to use the same Privia application and receive the same level of support from the identical staff that has supported you in the past. We look to our customers to continue to provide us valuable feedback and recommendations and will communicate any changes to our product strategy well in advance of taking action.

Can I still access the same Customer Support Web site?

Yes, the Privia Support Web site will remain available. You and your team members can still track the progress of your help tickets and access other Customer Support resources from the same, familiar location.

Have any of my contacts changed?

No, the current team for selling, supporting and developing Privia has not changed. E-mail addresses and phone numbers for Customer Support remain the same. Over time you will be made aware of additional e-mail and telephone numbers as we invest in improving services and eliminating duplication between the two companies.

What are SpringCM’s plans for Privia?

We are committed to supporting Privia both as an on-demand service and as an installed application. We expect that the on-demand version will be enhanced with technology from SpringCM to enable new features.

Will my billing remain the same?

Yes, current billing methods and rates will remain intact. Contact information for billing questions remains the same.

Will Synchris/Privia be absorbed into SpringCM?

The Privia team and business will operate as SpringCM’s new Government Solutions Division and continue to operate from the office based in Sterling, Va. The charter of this division is to continue Privia’s leadership in government contracting while developing new opportunities for other content-based applications, both within the government contractor community and directly with the government.

What if I want to add modules or users to my Privia solution?

The product offering for Privia has not changed, and all modules that were previously available are still available. Contact your Privia account manager if you would like to discuss extending your use of Privia.

Who will manage the Government Solutions Division?

The Division is headed by Steve Maier, vice president and general manager of the SpringCM Government Solutions Division. Steve’s extensive experience and background are outstanding assets for growing this business and enhancing the product offerings. You can read more about Steve in the press release.
