SpringCM Announces New Version Of Cloud Connector For Microsoft Sharepoint Products
October 19, 2009 — SAN MATEO, CA — SpringCM’s Software as a Service Platform Extends Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 with Content-Centric applications
SpringCM announced today that it has released the newest version of its Cloud Connector for SharePoint. With SpringCM’s unique Cloud-based ECM Platform, the SpringCM Cloud Connector for SharePoint enables organizations to extend and enhance Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and the upcoming release of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 portals and collaboration spaces with rich content management functionality for applications both inside and outside their firewall.
Corefino, Inc. a provider of outsourced online accounting and finance solutions based in Sunnyvale, CA, is an early user of the SpringCM Cloud Connector for SharePoint. Among the applications that Corefino supports on SpringCM is a sophisticated invoice processing capability in which customer invoices are faxed directly into the SpringCM repository using integrated fax management capability; data is automatically extracted using optical character recognition and SpringCM workflow automatically posts the payment data to the customer ERP system using SpringCM’s integration features. As part of the process, customers receive SharePoint task requests generated by SpringCM and then view and approve invoice payments through Corefino’s portal, yet the complete process is automated and managed by SpringCM.
According to Karen Watts, CEO at Corefino, "The SpringCM integration with SharePoint allows us to support our customer requirements much quicker and at a lower cost by leveraging the SpringCM platform combined with our SharePoint-based InfoReady customer portal. This significantly improves our operational efficiency. It's a great example of how Corefino is able to leverage our partnerships and technology for our customers."
The SpringCM Cloud Connector for SharePoint provides robust integration with SharePoint products and technologies, whether hosted or installed on-premise, and over 20 advanced ECM capabilities spanning imaging, OCR, enterprise-class document management, workflow, view and markup, fax and email management, e-signature, records management and more, all available in a SaaS model for a low monthly fee. Based on extensive customer feedback, SpringCM has enhanced its Cloud Connector for SharePoint with important capabilities including:
- Single sign-on and integrated security model to simplify administration and ensure that content is managed with consistent security across processes.
- Ability to browse and search SpringCM accounts and folder structures from within SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2007.
- Ability to view documents and edit SpringCM metadata from SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2007, thereby allowing casual users to participate in sophisticated document processes.
- Capability to edit documents stored in SpringCM using the Client integration capabilities of SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2007, enabling easy document revision control with full audit trails.
- Ability for SpringCM based workflows to pull from or insert documents into SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2007 libraries, enabling automated movement of documents between the two systems for records management, publishing and other processes
- Ability to set SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Server 2007 tasks based on SpringCM workflows, enabling one consolidated employee task list in SharePoint products that spans both collaborative and structured document processes.
According to Dan Carmel, SpringCM CEO, "SharePoint Server is the standard that many corporations have chosen for how their employees will view and interact with information across the enterprise. SpringCM now extends the possibilities of what companies can do with SharePoint Server in a cost effective way. By combining the proven benefits of SaaS - low monthly cost, no hardware or software to install and rapid deployment – with over 20 advanced technologies in the SpringCM platform, we enable organizations to deploy sophisticated document-centric processes such as contract management, case management, invoice processing and hundreds of others fully integrated with SharePoint at a cost, speed and agility not previously possible."
